If you are interested in helping coach this year please contact:
Jason Clark for the Boys' Program or Bethany Sullivan for the Girls' Program at NKYouthLax@gmail.com

All coaches need to have a current Coach Membership and a "Green Light" background check with USA Lacrosse.  North Kingstown Youth Lacrosse will pay the membership fee for all coaches that are approved to coach in Spring 2022. For more information, please visit USALacrosse.com.  Coaches must also be registered with North Kingstown Youth Lacrosse.  See "Register Online" in Main Menu on the left of our home page.

USA Lacrosse also offers Level I and Level II instructional certification for both boys' and girls' coaches. To find out when and where clinics will be offered please go to: https://www.usalacrosse.com/coach-development-clinics

RIYLL requires that all competitive (3/4s-7/8s) HEAD COACHES (and NKYL recommends ALL of our coaches) are USA Lacrosse LEVEL 1 certified.  NKYL recommends that assistant coaches are LEVEL 1 certified as well.

To achieve this, you must:

  • Have a current USA Lacrosse Membership
  • Have a current "green light" NCSI background check (through the USAL website)
  • Complete the ONLINE "Abuse Prevention Training"
  • Complete the ONLINE "Level 1 Fundamentals of Coaching and Developing the Individual Athlete" training
  • Complete the IN-PERSON "Developing the Individual Athlete" OR the VIRTUAL "Athlete-Centered Coaching" Workshop
  • Complete the ONLINE Positive Coaching Alliance's "Double Goal Coach 1" training
  • BOYS ONLY: Complete the ONLINE "How to Make Proper Contact" training
