North Kingstown Youth Lacrosse offers a spring lacrosse program for boys and girls grades K-8th grade. Ninth graders are able to participate in the program if they are not playing at the junior varsity or varsity level at their respective high school.
The program is open to residents of North Kingstown, Jamestown, Saunderstown, Exeter and West Greenwich.
We are also run a co-ed instructional "skills and drills" program for Kindergarten and 1st grade children called Little Skippers.
The information below was based upon the spring 2022 season and some of the information might be subject to change.
First practices begin in late March and are usually held twice per week, with the dates to be determined by each of the team coaches. Games are on Saturday mornings starting in early to mid-April and ending in mid-June, with games typically scheduled for public school spring break weekends and Memorial Day weekend. Game times range from 8:30 am (usually older age groups) and run until around 1pm or 2pm (younger age groups). Our home fields complex is the Quonset Recreational Fields at 34 Camp Thomas Way, North Kingstown. Away games are played in various towns, including South Kingstown, East Greenwich, Warwick, Coventry, Cranston, Cumberland, Lincoln, Burrillville, Barrington, Providence, Middletown, and Portsmouth.
Boys' and Girls' programs, depending on participation levels, could field both a developmental travel (Division II) and competitive travel team (Division I) at the Grade 5/6 and Grade 7/8 level. Grade 1/2 & Grade 3/4 teams are developmental travel teams only. The focus is on fundamentals, learning the game, and having fun!
Information about competitive tryouts for Grade 5/6 and Grade 7/8 level will be sent out before the season starts. Please note, for the formation of the competitive (Division I) teams, selection of players will be based upon both lacrosse skills and the ability of the player to commit to practices and games.
